
Stanthorpe Oztag teams compete for grand final glory
OZTAG: It was perfect conditions on Sunday as teams took to the fields of the McGlew St Complex for the semi and grand final games of the 2016 Oztag season.
The Under-8s played their grand final, with everyone walking off a winner after a great season played by all.
The U10s teams played their semi-finals on the day as well, before the Chiefs and the Mighty Ducks went head to head in the grand final, with the Chiefs walking out the winners.
In the U13s The Cardinals walked out grand final winners after their game against the Sonics.
Got the Runs were the winners in the U16s grand final after their game against the Cheeky Nah Nahs.
Stanthorpe Oztag co-ordinator John Cobon said the U16s teams kept the game close throughout.
"It went into extra time and then had to go to golden point,” he said.
"It was a pretty close and an exciting game.”
It was a close game full of excitement in the Opens game between Teamy McTeamFace and Prestige Worldwide.
Teamy McTeamFace walked away the overall winners.
The grand finals were an excellent end to the season said Cobon.
"The season went very well,” he said.
"We had good numbers, plenty of people playing.
"Everyone enjoyed it and we're looking forward to next years season.”
