Star’s response to brutal break-up sledge
Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick - ex-partner of NFL icon Aaron Rodgers - has called out a social media troll for a brutal comment on her Instagram.
Last month, it was revealed Patrick and Rodgers had split after more than two years together, and her social media platforms were inevitably flooded with misogynistic messages.
However, one particularly savage comment about her personal life prompted the 38-year-old to take a stand and respond publicly.
On an innocent photo of Patrick alongside a group of friends, a faceless troll replied: "At 38, its over for you in the relationship world with high value men. From a failed marriage to failed dating clearly you have a problem in dating."

Friends furrrrrrr ever! • I have really really good friends. So grateful. And so excited about all the good times we are yet to have (but not planning🤣 read below). • I am a bit of a future forecaster.... however, as time goes on I am reminded over and over again how much better the universe can plan when I get out of the way. Planning that seems to always suit BOTH sides so perfectly. Great AZ trip....flowing through wonderful mornings, days, and nights. ✨

In uncharacteristic fashion, Patrick reshared the comment to Instagram with a defiant caption: "If we let what one person thinks of us be our reality, we are doomed.
"Realize that what someone says to us has a lot more to do with their own wounds and reality than ours. Our reality is our decision. Still not easy - but true."
Patrick got married to a physical therapist in 2005, but the couple divorced in 2013. She dated fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse for five years before starting a relationship with Super Bowl champion Rodgers in 2018.
Considering her high profile, Patrick would undeniably be bombarded with countless sexist messages on a daily basis, notably because she competed in a male-dominated sport. But this comment clearly struck a nerve with the American driver.
Patrick and Rogers confirmed the end of their relationship after rumblings began to emerge in July. The Green Bay Packers quarter had previously dated actress Olivia Munn for three years before they called it quits in April 2017, and now he has been linked to actress Shailene Woodley.
No official confirmation on why Rodgers and Patrick split has been announced, just that the pair are "no longer together" and no confirmation has been received linking the NFL phenom to Woodley.
Before her retirement in 2018, Patrick was one of the most successful women in the history of motorsports - she was the first woman to win an IndyCar Series race and the first to clinch pole position in the NASCAR Cup Series.
