Titles draw 77 of the toughest

THE State Championships got under way at Cunningham club yesterday. With 77 teams competing, the program is action packed and full on.

Games started at 8am yesterday, they will resume at 8am today for the semi finals before the finals tomorrow.

The format has each team vying for supremacy and a spot in Sunday's finals.

Warwick A-grade player Sally McGrath said the competition so far had been good.

"We played Tambo first up and came out with a resounding 19-11 victory," McGrath said.

"I have been representing Warwick in Polocrosse since 1986 and I am still enjoying the state championships just as much."

Matches yesterday were split round robin matches, each team playing twice to determine who qualified for the semi finals.

The semi finals will be contested by Group A winners playing the Group B runners-up, and vice versa.
