Steketee in Big Bash team at Gabba tomorrow

AFTER taking the wicket of Test legend Mike Hussey in the win against the Sydney Thunder last weekend, Warwick paceman Mark Steketee is in the Brisbane Heat team hoping to keep their KFC T20 Big Bash League finals hopes alive when they host the Adelaide Strikers at the Gabba tomorrow at 6.40pm.

Steketee dismissed Hussey in 1-46 at the weekend to give him two of the biggest scalps in the tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, he dismissed West Indies star Chris Gayle but not in the same game in which Gayle caused a stir with his comments in an interview with Mel McLaughlin from Network 10.

The Heat, currently sitting in eighth spot, take on the top of the table Strikers tomorrow in their final home game of the season.

Brisbane has retained the same 13-man squad that was named to take on the Sydney Thunder last weekend.

Batsman Alex Doolan has been cleared to take his place in the squad after spending the night in hospital on Sunday while his teammates were defeating the Thunder at the Gabba.

The former Test batsman was struck in the groin during pre-game net practice and taken to hospital where he was kept in overnight for observations.

He has since made a full recovery and will be in contention for his first game of BBL|05 if chosen in the starting side.

Brisbane is set to break its record crowd attendance figure for the BBL, with the side attracting 83,628 fans so far to its three games.

Pre-sales have already gone past 17,000 for tomorrow night's game so it will be the second season in a row that the Heat has exceeded 100,000 spectators for its home games.

The record for a BBL or domestic T20 game at the Gabba is 32,969, which was set against the Melbourne Stars in BBL|03 in 2013-14.

Tomorrow's match starts at 6.40pm. Gates open from 5.00pm.

TEAM:  Chris Lynn (c), Samuel Badree, Ben Cutting, Alex Doolan, Andrew Fekete, Jason Floros, Sam Heazlett, James Hopes, Josh Lalor, Jimmy Peirson, Nathan Reardon, Lendl Simmons, Mark Steketee
