All round win for female rodeo champion in Warwick

AFTER winning the past two breakaway roping titles in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association, Table Top rider Stephanie Gard has proved she is an all-rounder in every sense of the word.

She won two of the first three rounds of the barrel racing at the Warwick Rodeo Australian Championships and capped off a great first three rounds with a win in the breakaway roping.

Gard is one the rodeo road most of the year often travelling with sister Ellie, brother Ben and family friend Jack Malay-Murphy who is originally from Western Australia.

She won her first APRA all around title yesterday.

As to her favourite event, Gard said it all depended on the week. "I have won two all around pro tour titles and the aim this weekend was to win an all around buckle in the championships," she said.

"Next year, I plan to travel to America to compete."

As for her sporting ambition it is simple.

"I just want to keep winning titles," Gard said.

She has two horses in Warwick, Rusty for barrel racing and LA for breakaway roping.
