Still time to nominate your local sports legend
SPORTS LEGENDS: Warwick is the horsepower capital of Australia and it is only because of the work of club members.
Some are worthy nominees for the Bundaberg Rum Local Sports Legends award being run online through the Daily News.
Unpaid work to the value of millions of dollars has been put into many sporting facilities on the Southern Downs, especially at Morgan Park which can claim the best polocrosse facility in the world, the best regional motor racing track in Australia, the best eventing facility north of the Hunter Valley and drags and motocross facilities as good as any.
It only happens because of the work of club members and their families, sponsors and some help from governments.
Legends can be those who put their time and money into sport as administrators and members, those who have contributed with enthusiastic performances and some achievers at state, national and international level.
The Warwick Daily News and our friends at Bundaberg Rum are looking for local Aussie legends - and you can have a chance to win yourself and them a prize by nominating them.
To nominate, go to warwickdaily news.com.au/ locallegends and tell us why your nominee for contribution to local sport is a dead-set legend.
The chosen legend in this region and their nominator will each receive a $100 prepaid Visa card.
