Stolen, butchered animal: Killarney crime uncovered

TWO Killarney residents accused of loading a stolen two-month-old lamb into their car before taking it home and butchering it have been charged.

The animal was stolen from an Emu Vale property last night.

The owners reported seeing the lamb being driven away in a ute at 7.30pm and contacted Killarney police, who worked with the Toowoomba Stock Squad to investigate the matter.

The lamb was allegedly found cut up and butchered at a Killarney residence just hours later.

Police said it was believed those responsible intended to eat the stolen animal.

A 62-year-old Killarney woman and a 20-year-old Killarney man have been charged with killing stock with intent to steal.

They are due to face Warwick Magistrates Court on January 24.
