Storms and showers on weekend
IT'S the silly season and there are parties galore happening all across the region, and everyone is praying for perfect weather, if not a little cooler than what we've been experiencing the past few weeks.
Bureau of Meteorology's Michael Paech said the weather over the weekend was looking a tad unstable, but hoped it wouldn't ruin any plans.
"It actually looks a bit stormy out your way this weekend,” he said.
"There's a chance of a thunderstorm on both days actually, so be prepared to take shelter if you see one coming.
"There's lots of instability moving through the region thanks to a surface trough moving in from western Queensland.”
Mr Paech said thunderstorms were quite likely on Saturday.
"I'd expect to see them in the mid to late afternoon and into the evening, there's also a 50% chance of rain as well on Saturday,” he said.
"We should see a top of 33 degrees on Saturday and then on Sunday it'll be a little bit cooler, with an expected top of 29 degrees and storms will be later in the day.”
