Storms to deliver more hail, lightning this week

THUNDERSTORMS are expected in Warwick and across the Southern Downs this week after wild weather slammed into the region on Friday.

Three horses were killed and a tree in Slade Park, Warwick, was blown to bits when an intense storm cell swept over the Rose City on Friday afternoon.

Only about 15mm of rain fell during the storm.

More hailstones pelted East Warwick later in the afternoon as a second thunderstorm rolled across the region.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting fine conditions today to be followed by the chance of thunderstorms and showers for the remainder of the week.

The best chance of rain is on Wednesday.
