Stormy return to rising summer heat
TRADITIONAL summer weather is on its way back for Warwick this week, with hot days and stormy afternoons forecast.
Temperatures are forecast to creep into the mid-30s from today, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting isolated showers and storms in coming afternoons.
Forecast Bryan Rolstone said winds were changing, bringing down moisture from the tropics.
"As soon as you get heat and moisture you have showers and thunderstorms," he said.
"Temperatures will be on the way up from (today) - peaking in the mid-30s."
Those hoping for some follow-up rain from last week's downpours could be in for some luck in coming days, with falls of up to 50mm possible.
Mr Rolstone said the storms would be spotty, with gaps between where rain falls.
"None the less these storms will go for many days," he said.
"Generally most places will get a shower or a storm."
The heat and storms are set to peak on Thursday and Friday, before temperatures cool off for the weekend.
Today: Possible late shower/storm. 13 - 35°C
Tomorrow: Hot. Storm developing. 20 - 37°C
