Stormy weekend ahead for Stanthorpe
STANTHORPE could be in for some stormy weather this weekend, combined with gusty winds, the bureau said.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Nyssa Lonsdale said a trough was deepening today but there is more potential for gusty storms on Saturday and Sunday - with Saturday most favoured.
"Storms are more likely in the east and north parts of the Darling Downs and down to Stanthorpe, with gusty winds,” Ms Lonsdale said.
"Some rain falls could be heavy, particularly in the south east, with possible hail - but not everyone will receive this.”
The BoM website is indicating rainfall no higher than 3mm, so it's unlikely there will be any flood warnings issued - but always check the weather first if you are heading out.
Temperatures are expected to reach 27C today, 26C on Saturday and 28C on Sunday.
