WARWICK HOCKEY MASTERS PROFILES:
Tony Duncan: Goalkeeper; also keeper for Harlequins. Tony came to Warwick four years ago and is a big-game keeper who excels under pressure. Assistant captain- coach for the QLD 45 3rd team in Sydney this year.
Alan Balfour: Goalkeeper/fullback; Al is one of the best defensive players running around when he isn't at Fraser Island chasing big flathead.
Robert (Bert) Murphy: Fullback; also known as "Ice man". Very cool under pressure and has one of the best back stick tackles around.
Jamie "Reidy" Reid: Fullback/halfback; solid in defence and capable of making attacking runs from either position. Steve Farrell: Fullback/halfback; This year's captain-coach. A defender that likes to inject himself in attacking raids. A QLD and Australian Masters Rep.
Toni Cox: Halfback; unfortunately the only female on the team, but don't let that fool you. Strong in defence and can attack when needed.
Matt "Squiggle" Hagenbach: Centre half; Without a doubt our most valuable player, controlling the game from the midfield. A QLD junior player that oozes skill and experience and tears the opposition apart. Has scored 22 goals for the year…so far!
Peter "Rubber" Rutledge: Halfback/forward; playing this year for the first time with the vets showing why he was selected as an honorary Australian junior.
Dion "Shrek" Phillips: Forward, can and will play in any position and is an asset to any team. Will be playing keeper for his Wyverns club this weekend. A QLD Masters Hockey Rep. Ten goals for Warwick this year.
Donald Costigan: Forward and keeper; Don knows how to score goals equally as well as how to stop them. He has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time. Has scored 15 goals so far this year.
Greg "Macca" McDonald: Professional inside forward; Possibly our most experienced masters hockey player. Macca has captain-coached many QLD Masters team and is very solid in defence as well as attack and can score goals.
Phil "Rolfey" Rolfe: Striker!! Rolfey has the ability to position himself on the field and in the circle to make goals happen. His dynamic stick-work leaves the opposition wondering which way he went. Has represented QLD Masters previously; 16 goals for the year and counting.
Gary "Gaz" Millard: Inside forward/half back; Gaz is a workhorse on and off the field. Taking on president of WHA this year has not weakened his game at all. Solid in defence and also knows how to score a goal when needed the most.
Dave "Dr Dave" Jordan: Inside forward/half back; Dave can and will run all game, a very solid defender and attacker as you would expect from an inside forward. Unfortunately won't make the finals as he'll be in Perth. Robert "Easty" Eastwell. Wing forward/ defender; Easty is capable of running the length of the field to score or set up goals. He also has the sneakiest "back of the stick" skill that most people DON'T see. Don't under estimate this player at any time.
Larry O'Brien: Wing forward; One of the best right wings in masters hockey who couldn't play the full season due to work.
