Strong Warwick and District junior league representation for Central Division trials

TWENTY players from the Warwick and District Junior Rugby League have been selected in South West Mustangs teams for trials at Kingaroy on June 10-12.

The teams were named after trials in five age groups at Gatton on Saturday between teams from Warwick and District, Toowoomba and South West Stockman’s teams from the Chinchilla, Miles and Roma areas.

The Mustangs teams will play in the Central Division trials at Kingaroy. Jackie Stephson is the co-ordinator of the South West Mustangs teams.

Central teams will be named after the trials in Kingaroy to play in the State Championships in Toowoomba in late June.

The trials alternate between the divisions and it is Central’s turn this year and Toowoomba is the host centre. State U13, U14 and U16 trials have been held in Warwick in the past but with the addition of the girls, the number of competitions are up to five.

There were no Warwick and District fixtures last weekend due to the carnival at Gatton but a full round of fixtures will be played this Saturday.

Players in Mustangs teams:

13 years boys – Morgan Byrne, Jayden Lippi

14 years boys – Drew Williams, Torben Milton, Connor Clement, Thomas Bell, Carlos Smith, Jacob Gross

16 years boys – Dylan Lippi, Cody Byrne, Matt Murphy

14 years girls – Kira Etherington, Tahnee Gilkison, Angel Armstrong, Katelyn Anderson, Emma Reynolds

16 years girls – Kathleen Keogh, Allira Walker, Aliyah Farah, Madeleine Eyre

Well done to all!
