Southern Downs students learn of soldiers from the past

THEY were just regular school kids with regular lives, until they were sent off to the frontline to protect our country.

The boys from Warwick Central State school who fought in WWII will have their names engraved on a memorial board to be unveiled November 12.

Past student and Vietnam veteran Brian Miller was the force behind the memorial and said it was important students were familiar with the local lads who went to war.

Relatives of any past students who fought, listed to the right, are encouraged to attend the unveiling.

For more information phone the school on 4661 1064.
