SOTE students take to the stage for classic musical

STUDENTS of the School of Total Education will peform their own musical rendition of the classic title, The Pirates of Penzance.

Twenty-five secondary students have spent three months preparing and rehearsing to tell the pirates' tale.

The group of actors met every Wednesday afternoon and spent another four hours on Saturdays rehearsing.

The crew then spent another two and half days practising during the school holidays.

Students said they were feeling nervous but excited to present the production.

"We're pretty excited, a lot of time and effort has gone into it," Year 12 student Ashur Perkins said.

"It's my last musical this year so it's a big of a milestone I guess."

The big show will be held this weekend on both Friday and Saturday night at 7.30pm.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for concession.
