
Students win spots in Downs school teams
SCHOOL SPORTS: Eleven Warwick High students have made Darling Downs Secondary School teams in the first four months of the school year.
The highest representation is in orienteering with four students in the regional team to compete at Maryborough in August.
The group includes Year 11 student Simeon Burrill who won a national title last year.
Jake Reid will compete in the state hockey championships in Cairns next week after already representing Queensland at club level this year.
Talitha Doro travelled to the United Kingdom over the summer holidays with an Australian team and will play for Darling Downs in football on May 29-June 1 in Ipswich.
Queensland representative softballer Rachel Kraak competed for Darling Downs in the state championships at Downey Park in Brisbane.
Warwick High basketballer Sam Cremasco is in Cairns for the state championships this week. This will be his first time in a Darling Downs secondary school side.
Jazz Namara is in his first year at Warwick State High School and has made his first Darling Downs team in rugby league for the state championships starting May 22 at Mackay.
He has already played for the Toowoomba Clydesdales under-18 and U20 sides this season.
Jason Anderson has been a regular in Darling Downs teams in recent years and will travel to Maryborough on May 22.
Brendan Hoffman is in his first year at Warwick High and has already competed in state swimming in 2014.
