Supa IGA Warwick is a three time village retailer winner

IT MAY have only been open for three years, but Supa IGA Warwick has taken out as many awards in one hit.

The store won Village Retailer of the Year - "village" being the region from Ipswich to Inverell to Kingaroy to Charleville - the Grocery Department Award and the Dairy/Freezer Department Award.

Managing partners Shane and Tracy Smith were thrilled to receive the recognition and Mr Smith said it had boosted the morale within the store.

"It's a really good team and we all want to work together to make it the best store we can," he said.

"It shows the staff that the work they're doing and the effort they put in is all worth it.

"Plus it's good for the staff to be able to say they achieved an award."

In the annual awards ceremony, four stores are nominated for each department award, with a total of 52 stores.

Mr and Mrs Smith will head across the ditch to New Zealand in March for the state award presentations.

If successful, they will head to the nationals late in the year to be held on the Gold Coast.
