Super hockey weekend planned at Queens Park

THREE Warwick teams will battle with three teams from the other side of the Great Dividing Range and two from Toowoomba in the Condy Vets Super 9 mixed hockey at Queens Park this weekend.

The first games are at 6.30pm Friday and all three Warwick teams will be involved on the first night.

The final will be on Sunday. At least two of the nine players on the field at all times must be women.

Star goalie Kerri Fitch is organising two teams and Adam Byrne will lead the other Warwick team.

Byrne has signed up Olympic medallist Grant Smith for the Hackers.

There will be no Saturday night games as the carnival dinner is on at the Hawker Rd Function Centre.

Admission to the games is free and the bar and barbecue will be operating.

The association is still keen to sign more players for the coming season and any prospective players welcome to watch the action at the weekend and talk to club officials about the junior and senior club competitions.

This weekend won't be the only masters hockey in Warwick this year as the association will host the men's Over-35s State Championships in June.
