Supermarket flasher caught with drugs

A SUPERMARKET employee at Lismore has been caught with five grams of the drug ice after allegedly exposing himself to a shopper, police have said.

Police from the Richmond Local Area Command have reported on their Facebook page the 44-year-old man was working at the supermarket when he allegedly exposed his penis to one of the shoppers.

When confronted by police, the man denied exposing himself, saying: "Why would I do that at work?"

However, that was not the only thing he was alleged to have done at work.

The man, who police were told had been exhibiting other odd behaviours before the flashing incident, had also allegedly been spotted dumping 14 small plastic bags containing a combined total of five grams of methylamphetamine or "ice" near the trolley bay where he had been working.

Police took the man to Lismore Police Station where he was interviewed. They said the man admitted the plastic bags were his, claiming the drugs were for personal use. He also admitted to flashing the shopper, although he was unable to explain why he had done it.

The man has been charged with wilful and obscene exposure in a public place, possessing a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug, and possessing goods suspected of being stolen.

The man was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Lismore Local Court on April 8.
