GOLF: Tim Sutton is in a close battle with Jay Roberts and Kris McLennan in the battle for the A-grade championships at the Warwick Golf Club.

Sutton has 216 after three rounds, three ahead of Roberts. McLennan is third on 222.

Unless someone comes from way back, the odds are the club will have a new champion as none of the top three in the men's competition have previously won A grade.

In the ladies A-grade championship, Sam Hinze has a score of 233 to lead Anna Cox on 265 and Marg Adcock on 274.

The battle for the B-grade title in the men's is the closest of all with Josh Hynes on 250, one shot ahead of Phil Economidis. Gary Russell-Sharam is in striking distance on 256.

Helen Olsen is playing well to lead the B-grade ladies on 280 from Liz Cockram on 286 and Molly Siebel on 294.

In C grade, Wayne Wiedman leads the men on 280 from Gunter Nicklich on 284 and Ian Stewart who is still a chance on 285.

Jan Maher has a convincing lead in C-grade women on 333 from Marge Burley on 350 and Vicki Bennett on 357.

The final rounds are today with the leaders hitting off last.
