Swimmer sets four records

JOSH Day broke records in each stroke at the annual Warwick State High School Inter-house Swimming Carnival at WIRAC.

The 14-year-old set new marks in 50 metre breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly and swam one minute, 5.49 seconds to set a new mark in the 100m freestyle.

Ben Batten broke the 16 years 50m backstroke record with a time of 31.35.

Relay records were broken by Cunningham house (14 years boys relay), Hamilton (15 years boys relay) and Leslie (17 years and over girls relay).

In the battle for the Reason Cup for aggregate, Barnes won a cliff hanger with 609 points from Hamilton on 593.

Barnes House won the Edgar Blau Relays Trophy from Hamilton.

The Gordon Affleck Trophy for champion swimmer of the carnival was won by Josh Day. Shenee Coleman and Lauren Day shared the Pearl Galloway Cup for champion girl in all strokes.
