Tails wag for Town and Country Vets

SEEING local people and their much-loved pets happy at the end of a long day of work is what being a veterinarian is all about for Coralyn Turner.

Ms Turner who took over the ownership of the Warwick Town and Country Vets last week said making people and their pets happy was the best part of the job.

"It's good when you have a really challenging case that comes through - you treat them and they come good," she said.

"We have really good clients, the owners are always happy you've been able to help them and their pet.

"When it happens to you you're so appreciative - some people are just so thankful."

Last week the Daily News asked readers on Facebook to nominate their favourite vet, with the Warwick Town and Country Vets and Ross Newman Mobile Vet coming out on top.

There was plenty of praise for the Warwick Town and Country Vet clinics from Daily News readers on the Facebook status, which had more than 120 comments.

Linda Gaiter said the team at the clinic were the greatest.

"Greg and all the staff do an awesome job on our animals, large and small," she wrote.

"And the bill is never as frightening as vets we have used in the past."

Ms Turner, who has been a veterinarian for seven years, said communication was very important in keeping pet owners happy and trusting.

"Communication is important in any practice," she said.

"It's all about making sure the clients know what is going, the progress of cases, prognosis and how long things will take."
