Taiwanese trio's return to the orchard

WORK at the Finlay farm was so good the first time round, three Taiwanese backpackers had to come back again for their second year visa.

Wonka Yen, Paphy Po and Kim Yung all agreed farmer Andrew Finlay was the reason for their return.

"He was a very nice person,” Mr Yen said.

"I think they own the best farm in Australia.”

They worked at the packing shed last year, but this year the trio from Taiwan are out in the fields.

"I think I like packing better because the trees are a little bit high for me,” Mr Yen said.

"I like both but I like packing more because you don't have the sun,” Ms Yung added.

All three agreed farm life in Australia was very relaxed compared to Taiwan.

"In Taiwan it's just working, working, working,” Ms Yung said.

"You don't really have a holiday, maybe just a small holiday like one day or two days,” Ms Po added.

Ms Yung also enjoyed meeting other people from different countries on the farm.

The three met each other in Stanthorpe and unfortunately have to leave the country once their second year visa expires.

But they all wish they could stay long.

"Maybe I'll get a student visa,” Ms Yung joked.

Before they return home, travelling around the country was at the top of all of their bucket lists.

After the two years spent at the Finlay's orchard Ms Yung said she'd definitely recommend the farm to friends back home.

"I came to challenge myself and make money,” she said.

"I'd tell a friend who wanted to try and come to Australia to challenge yourself.”
