Take care at speeding hot spots

WE ALL hate speeding fines, but if we just paid closer attention they would be a thing of the past.

A Warwick Police traffic branch spokesman said key offending hot spots in Warwick included both major highway entries and exits from town and several main roads.

"We've had a lot of complaints about Dragon St and Tooth St, as well as Wallace St and Alexandra Dr," he said.

"On Wallace St most people think the speed changes before it does."

Warwick Police also advises drivers to keep an eye out for school zones and times on week days.

"School zones times vary at the moment but they are trying to get them all the same and make it 7am to 9am and 2pm to 4pm," the police spokesman said.

"Victoria St is a school zone all day because is a split campus (with Warwick State High students crossing the street to use the oval and agriculture block during the day).

"East State School is another where people don't always adhere to the school zones."
