Talented artists from our region
FOR Warwick Art Gallery assistant Loretta Grayson, displaying works of art at her place of work is a nerve-racking thing.
The artist is one of six exhibiting pieces in the display Cottage Industry, which was officially opened last night.
Mrs Grayson said the while this wasn't her first exhibition, it contained the largest number of works she had displayed at once.
"It's a bit nerve-racking having it in such an esteemed gallery like this," she said.
"I've got about 13 pieces, and they're combined paintings with collage elements."
All pieces of art - which were done in the past year - are for sale and are on display until January 8.
The art gallery will be closed from December 24 until January 3.
Other exhibiting artists are Ngaire Bartlam, Nic Hohn, Dianne Kelly, Kate Mason and Jill Van Iperen.
"It's lovely to share (the exhibition) with artists I admire, and to have it as a collective thing," Mrs Grayson said.
"Di (Kelly) is a good friend. She bought the old Emu Vale school next to us and turned it into an art space."
Today, there will be a fashion workshop with media artist Nic Hohn, from 9.30am until 4pm at the art gallery. Cost is $75.
