Tandy set to go up against the Cutters

THE Killarney Cutters are likely to go head-to-head against former Cutters player Coedie Tandy in Saturday's Border Rugby League fixture game against Wallangarra at Charlie Andrews Oval.

Tandy was halfback and a star for the first two Killarney A-grade premiership wins in 2013 and 2014.

He has joined Wallangarra this year which is a major boost to the team which finished bottom of the table in 2014.

Wallangarra have recruited well and will provide tough opposition for Killarney.

Both side lost last weekend so they are effectively playing for equal second.

Cutters coach John Trindall is also coaching the women's league tag team.

Tenterfield host Stanthorpe in the other BRL game on Saturday at Tigers Park.

There will be two curtain raisers at Tenterfield, an under-18 game and league tag.

Centre Lee Hicks and lock Ben Staley, last season's joint BRL Player of the Year, are two of the Stanthorpe players who will be missing this week.

Stanthorpe will be looking for their second league tag women's win under the coaching of retired Gremlins great Paul Shatte.
