Tansey starts well for convincing Rose Bowl win
POLOCROSSE: Tansey has scored a convincing win against Warwick in the IOR Petroleum Rose Bowl final at Morgan Park.
Tansey dominated in the second and third chukkas to be leading by up to 11 goals at one stage before Warwick came back late in the game on the back of four successive goals by Zac Cochrane. The final score was 24-18 to Tansey.
Stuart Shepherd had a great carnival for Warwick winning the best Australian Stock Horse award with his horse Solution.
Tansey No1 Grant Carroll won best horse and rider in the Rose Bowl and best horse of the carnival.
In interstate competition, Queensland won the two series 3-0 against New South Wales in the women's masters and sub-junior grades.
Warwick player Anita Shepherd was in the Queensland women's team and said it was great to chalk up a win against the Blues.
"It was exciting to play against Tanya Mulligan in two chukka. She is a great player,” Anita said.
A winning World Cup captain, Mulligan was part of the New South Wales team at a carnival which attracted 84 teams.
