Tansey takes top Polocrosse gong

TANSEY 1 beat Warwick 1 20-11 to take out the A-grade final round robin at the annual Killarney Polocrosse Carnival during the Easter weekend.

Tom O’Neill, of Tansey, scored 12 goals in the final and won the best horse and rider award.

Cunnuningham1 player Ryle Waugh won the B-grade best horse and rider as Cunningham won the B-grade final with Grafton 1 runners-up.

The Killarney Polocrosse Club has only two playing members this year – April and Bryce Lamb.

They have teamed up with Cunningham for the 2011 season and both played in the D-grade senior’s competition over the weekend.

Bryce Lamb played No.1 and won best horse and rider.

Killarney Polocrosse Club official Col Bloomfield thanked all the teams that travelled.

“With Killarney not fielding a team, it is sometimes hard to get other clubs to attend our carnival,” Bloomfield said.

It is still to be finalised but the Gold Coast carnival could be played at Killarney on May 21-22.
