Team focus on boosting region

THE council's economic development team is ready to roll, with a focus on boosting the region's economy and supporting local businesses.

Community services director Tony Minuti said generating new investments was a high priority for the team.

"Council's economic development unit is committed to the growth of existing businesses and to the attraction of new investment to the region with the aim of improving local wealth and employment outcomes," Mr Minuti said.

He said the economic development unit was there for those who wanted to seek advice or assistance for new business ventures.

The team liaises with state and federal government departments and markets the region as a favourable place to work, live, invest and visit.

"We have a competent team ready to help with business enquiries, investment opportunities and keep you up to date with local and global economic issues," Mr Minuti said.

The team is made up of Nick Edols, EDO, and support officers Sue Organ and Jenny Sherrin.

The search is on for a Stanthorpe officer to join the team.
