Success for Clifton at carnival

CLIFTON Polocrosse Club had a very successful weekend last weekend when they attended the Toowoomba Polocrosse Club Carnival at Oakey.

Clifton's first junior team competed in the A-grade junior division and were runners up in this grade.

The team was made up of Shane Hunkin, Grace Young, Nick Muller,Cody Madder, Jack Mantova, and Jake Young.

One of Clifton's other juniors Sam Muller played as a spare player and also played for the Gold Coast, who ran out winners in this grade.

Three of our other juniors Darcy Leisegang, Heidi Geppert and Phoenix Whitton made up a team with three Toowoomba players and competed in the B-grade juniors and although they didn't take home any prizes played some really great polocrosse over the weekend.

The Clifton Polocrosse first team competed in the B-grade and played some nail-biting polocrosse to run out winners in the final against Tansey.

The best horse and rider in this grade was awarded to club captain Alex Hall.

The club will send teams to Stanley Rivers next weekend and hopes to support some of the western clubs with players attending the St George Carnival on July 3 and 4.
