Teams to battle it out in major semi finals

TWO past premiership winners will do battle in the major semi final in Warwick netball tonight.

The semi finals for all competitions are tonight rather than the usual format of C and B grades on Monday and A grade on Tuesday.

Hazards won the premiership in 2011 and have won the minor premiership this season. They will meet Darkside in the major semi final at 7pm.

Darkside snared second spot and two chances in the finals on a double count back from reigning premiers.

Both Darkside and Grenades had four wins in head to head battles between the two sides but Darkside secured second after scoring 240 goals against Grenades during the season and only conceding 210.

Hazards will rely heavily on Jess O'Brien in the major semi while Darkside always looks to the defensive brilliance of Helena Fraser. In the minor semi final, young side Grenades start favourites against the experienced Doorslammers combination.

Hotshots have won the minor premiership in B grade and Stylistics in C grade.

Umpires from Darling Downs Netball will officiate at all semi finals.
