Teamwork is a must according to experienced coach

ROB Pohlman has coached in Warwick hockey for the past 45 years.

He is in his 54th year as a player. He has represented Queensland at masters level for 14 years and won a medal in masters hockey for Australia.

He talks about his coaching philosophy.

TEAMWORK is the key to being a successful coach.

I always want players looking for their supports.

I try to build confidence in teams I coach.

There is not much difference between coaching seniors and juniors. I have coached senior teams with no combination so you almost have to go back to the same methods you use with juniors.

This year I am coaching the Corinthians ladies team after the Corinthians and Wyverns fielded a combined team last year.

After going back to our own identity we are short of players and I would love to hear from more prospective players, 14 years and older. We have a lot of experience and ability in the players we have so we can cater for players new to the game.

Any new players are most welcome. We will be able to teach you the skills and rules of the game.

Learning to trap and hit are the main skills needed.

New players are welcome to call Pohlman on 0438613573.
