Teen girl kicks cop in head during assault

A POLICE officer has allegedly been kicked in the head by a teenage girl during an assault in Warwick overnight.

The male officer was arresting the 15-year-old in Canning St at 11.30pm, when another 18-year-old woman intervened.

Police say the two teens assaulted the officer, with the younger kicking him in the head and injuring his jaw.

The attack happened while another officer on the scene went to collect a police vehicle on Albion St.

Warwick police Sergeant Lisa Self said police objected to the pair's bail and they would face the Warwick Magistrates Court this morning.

Both are facing charges of serious assault of a police officer.
