TEENAGER Thomas Allan Eames-Parker will not serve time behind bars, despite his part in a violent rampage that left six businesses $24,000 out of pocket.

The Warwick teen and two juveniles made their way through Warwick streets on Saturday night, smashing windows, windscreens and signs, damaging school play equipment and engaging in other destructive behaviour.

Eames-Parker pleaded guilty in the Warwick Magistrates Court on Monday to a total of 22 charges and was yesterday sentenced to three months jail, wholly suspended for 12 months.

The 18-year-old was also placed on 18 months probation and ordered to pay one third of the damage bill, which worked out to just less than $8000.

The charges for which he was sentenced included wilful damage, assault, public nuisance, trespass and a number of driving offences.

The teen had been remanded in police custody since Saturday evening.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Steve de Lissa yesterday presented the court with estimates on damage from each of the six victims.

Snr Const de Lissa told the court the damage bill for one sign alone - valued at $40,000 - amounted to $10,000.

The court heard Eames-Parker was subject to a community service order at the time of the offences but had so far failed to complete any of the 160 hours ordered.

The community service order was revoked yesterday and the teen was re-sentenced for three counts of public nuisance and one of trespass from incidents last year. His punishment for these offences was included in the probation order issued yesterday.

Magistrate Graham Lee chastised the teen on his "disturbing" criminal behaviour.

"The disturbing part of this case was what happened on Saturday night and the progression down the street," he said.

Eames-Parker's grandparents supported the teen in court yesterday and victims also viewed proceedings from the courtroom gallery.

A 15-year-old male is due to face Children's Court next month regarding the weekend's rampage.
