Teenager up to the half-marathon challenge

FOR 13-year-old Isaac Bacon, running a half-marathon was a challenge he wanted to tackle.
Running alongside his father Steven, his little legs carried him 21.1km from Warwick to Yangan on Saturday morning.
"I love running," Isaac said. "It makes me so happy.
"I've never run this far before though."
Mr Bacon said his son participates in a lot of fun runs but the longest distance he has run before the half marathon was about 10km.
"I found it really hard around the 15km mark," Isaac said.
"I kept pushing myself though because one of our friends was running behind and I wanted to beat him."
As Isaac crossed the finish line outside the Yangan Cash and Carry he fell into his mother's arms and fought back tears.
"It was so hard but I'm so happy I finished," he said.
"This has been good training for my up-and-coming school cross country."
Mr Bacon, who travelled from Brisbane to compete said it was his first time in Warwick.
"A few of our friends told us how great it was so we decided to come out and try it," Mr Bacon said.
Mr Bacon competed in all five events at the weekend.
"It's a great place and we will definitely be coming back again," he said.
