TEMPLERS coach Darin Page reckons a few changes to positions made all the difference as his team went from last to first in Warwick basketball in one season.

On Wednesday night, Templers finished an unbeaten season with a 42-32 grand final victory against ACF.

The Templers team was virtually the same as last season except for the inclusion of new man Jay Fyguracaon.

"Jay's pretty quick on court," Page said.

"We just maximised what we did with players in various positions.

"The aim was to use the ability of each player to suit a role in the team.

Page said his side's grand-final victory was made a little easier as Queensland Basketball League player Declan Starasts didn't play for ACF in the grand final.

"ACF were less imposing inside (under the basket) without Declan," he said.

"We only had to deal with Nick Quinn."

Templers also had a player missing for the grand final.

ACF captain Kevin Globio said he was pretty disappointed in the result.

"We played well individually in the grand final," he said.

While ACF only had five players compared to six from Templers, he wasn't going to use it as an excuse.

"It shouldn't matter as we are all young guys," he said.

"Templers have been strong all season."

The grand final ended the 2011 season for the senior players in Warwick basketball but many who featured in the grand final now have the chance to focus on the Ag Requirements Regional Basketball League finals in Toowoomba tomorrow at 5pm and 7pm at Downlands.

After the club grand final, the focus quickly turned to the regional league as the Warwick coaching staff put their teams through their paces at WIRAC for the challengers ahead.

During the season, weekly representative training has been after fixtures.
