Ten called up for TRL All Stars
RUGBY LEAGUE: Three Warwick Cowboys players with Queensland Cup experience are in a large squad for a TRL All Stars game on the same program as the NRL match between Brisbane and Gold Coast on February 17 in Toowoomba.
Dylan Galloway and Ben Sullivan have played for Norths in Queensland Cup footy and Dan Murphy won a cup premiership while playing for the Mackay Cutters in 2013.
Murphy played his first senior footy in Warwick and played strongly at five-eighth in the premiership win. One of his teammates in the Mackay backline in 2013 was current Australian five-eighth Michael Morgan.
Sullivan played earlier this year in British Columbia, Canada. He has returned to his hometown club and is likely to play his first game back in the TRL on February 17.
The fourth Warwick player in the squad is hard-running second rower Mick Bloomfield.
The Wattles players in the squad are Ty Gardner, Jackson Green, Dale Perkins, Michael Pearson and the Duggan brothers, Matt and Ryan.
Perkins and Pearson played a lot of their early footy at Stanthorpe so there will be a Granite Belt connection in the game.
Former Warwick Cowboys player Jazz Namara is also in the squad. Namara played under-age footy at the Gold Coast before moving to Karara with his family and enrolling at Warwick High.
Namara only played a handful of games for the Cowboys as he has been a regular in Clydesdales/Mustangs teams in state competitions.
