The Darkside shines in contest
NEW team, The Darkside, is second in the A-grade points table in its inaugural season in Warwick A-grade netball.
Team organiser Helena Fraser said leaders Hazards would be the toughest opposition to The Darkside in the final month of the season.
“We are likely to meet them in the major semi-final,” Fraser said.
“We beat Hazards narrowly in the last game between the two sides but they weren’t at full strength.
“The netball association has more new A-grade teams this season than any other season for a while.”
Rockets are also new to A-grade fixtures, which are played each Tuesday night, at WIRAC.
Doorslammers are arguably the most successful team in A-grade for the past decade and has already secured third place in the battle for top four spots.
Semi-finals will be played on August 30, the A-grade preliminary final on September 6 and all grand finals on September 12.
The presentation evening is two days after the grand finals on the Wednesday night.
In B-grade, Grenades are the leaders while Fruit Loops are top of the table in C-grade. B and C grade netball fixtures are on Monday nights at WIRAC.
