Is this the end of the Easter pig out?

AS THE Easter Bunny prepares to make his yearly trip around the globe, parents are being urged to resist allowing their children to splurge on the good stuff.

Warwick tyke Harley Heinemann is at no risk of splurging on chocolate treats this Easter and would much rather play with his eggs than eat them.

Weight loss expert Annette Sym hopes other kids will follow in Harley's footsteps and suggests 50-75g of chocolate a day for children and restricting the eating of the eggs to the long weekend.

"Sometimes children get so many eggs, they're eating chocolate for weeks," she said.

"It's important to remember there are plenty of other ways to make Easter special for children, such as doing Easter crafts together or giving them an Easter gift," she said.
