The fight of the night at WIRAC
TWO boxers from Warwick called Jake showed they are boxers of the future with an outstanding three rounds in their boxing debuts at the Fundraiser Fight Night at WIRAC.
Fight Night organiser Chris Fox, of the Warwick Boxing Club, said the crowd threw $110 into the ring at the end of the fight to recognise the outstanding effort by the boxers.
Jake Dwan had the best of the first round, the second round was close and Jake Thompson had the better of the third round.
Fox said the pair had been training at the club for six weeks.
"I had both matched with visiting opponents but neither showed up so we matched the two Warwick boxers," he said.
"We had 13 fights on the night."
In the main fight, Tasmanian star Johnny Brown beat Murgon boxer Jimmy Stanley.
