The inside news on cricket final and trophy winners
STUNNED Mullets won their third successive Australia Day Cricket Carnival at the weekend on the back of a strong batting performance in the final against Hulk's XI.
Captain Troy Welsh talks about the grand final.
WHAT WAS THE TURNING MOMENT: It was our early batting, we had 100 in the first 10 overs. Steve Hawthorne opened and started with 12 off four balls.
Lachlan Gross and Nathan Case batted well early.
YOUR TEAM SCORED 178 SO WERE YOU CONFIDENT: We bowled a good line and length so made Hulk's XI hit straight.
WAS THERE A KEY SPELL: Ben Gross came on with his medium pace and bowled stump to stump. They tried to hit him and got out.
WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS WHEN ANDREW RYAN STARTED TO HIT OUT: It is always hard for a team when you are chasing 12 runs an over.
WAS THERE A KEY WICKET: The word was we had to get opener David Elsley out as he could hit a long ball. Brodie Frizzell had him caught at mid wicket.
ANY GREAT CATCHES: Lachlan Gross took a one-handed catch as wicketkeeper to dismiss his brother Jacob off the bowling of Kane Bradford.
HOW MANY CARNIVALS IS THIS FOR YOU: I haven't missed a carnival in our 20 years as Stunned Mullets.
I will keep playing until I can play with all of our boys. Ryan is 13, Josh 11 and Liam 10. Ryan and Josh will play in the carnival next year.
