JEWELLERY Designer and glass artist Kathleen Moon, has been creating unique wearable art for the past 15 years.
Although in the past she has drawn her creative inspiration from her hometown in Mackay and The Whitsundays, she now calls Warwick home, and has done so for the past two years with her family.
Along with the heat wave currently sweeping the region, Kathleen's Bird on a Branch Designs glass studio in Greymare, has also been heating up over the past few weeks.
The accomplished artist is preparing to present her latest limited edition jewellery collection, at the upcoming Arts Council Showcase Artistic Inspirations.
The event will take place on Saturday March 4 and will showcase Kathleen's whimsical jewellery design, using her own handcrafted 'Art Glass Beads', made from fine silver and Italian Morretti Glass.
Some of the highlights of Kathleen's artistic journey include attaining international acclaim from Queen Elizabeth II for her designs, exhibiting her 'Australiana Collection' with the International Royal Exhibition Beaded Links in Australia and London.
She has also contributed designs and tutorials to various Australian Beading Magazines, along with her partnership with Swarovski in Austria, to create exhibition pieces for their gallery, and artistic publication Fire & Ice showcasing international artists.
"I am really excited to exhibit at Artistic Inspirations, and show the local community my particular style of design", Kathleen said.
This will be the first time she presents Art Glass Beads in a cohesive Jewellery Collection for in Warwick.
"The artistic talent of a town should be showcased and allowed to shine, no matter what kind of talent it may be, and I'm pleased to have been included in an event that brings artisans of all kinds together, across our community on the Southern Downs," she said.
