There is a lot of talk about rain but where do we fit in?

WHILE plenty of rain in forecast in many areas of Australia in the next week, Warwick and Stanthorpe aren't likely to be under the highest falls.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Tony Wedd said the closest rain to Warwick and Stanthorpe today was at Beaudesert and Jimboomba.

"There is a band of storms west of St George at 5.45pm which are slowly tracking east but I don't think they will get to Warwick and Stanthorpe and if they do the storms will be in a weakened state," he said.

"There is another chance of storms on Monday and then showers on Tuesday."

He said he didn't expect drought breaking rain in the Warwick and Stanthorpe areas in the next week.

"There was very heavy rain in the south east coastal districts on Thursday night and Friday and on the tropical east coast," he said.

There is a 70 per cent chance of 5mm to 10mm rain on Monday, the most forecast in the next week.
