'There's acres upon acres of produce it's a sight to behold'

AMONG the buyers and sellers at the Pig and Calf Sale was a city man who was stopping in during his holiday.

Sydney-based Mark Eldridge came to Warwick to visit some friends who had built a home for themselves at Leslie Dam.

The friends recommended he make a stop at the Pig and Calf Sale to see what rural living was all about.

He said travelling through the Queensland countryside had been a lovely experience so far.

"It's such a treat for me, I love the country atmosphere,” he said.

Coming from the biggest city in Australia, Mr Eldridge said Warwick provided the perfect opportunity for some relaxation but also some learning.

"It is important I come to see where all the produce comes from, we have no idea in the city,” he said.

"Driving into Warwick, there is just acres upon acres of produce, it is really a sight to behold.”

Once he finishes up his career in motel management, Mr Eldridge said Warwick would make for an idyllic retirement.

"Sydney has become a difficult place to live in, I could absolutely see myself retiring here.”
