Thieves terrorise woman in pre-dawn raid on Coast home

THIEVES broke into a Beerwah home early yesterday and threatened a woman with a knife while demanding money.

Police are calling for public information about the violent burglary, which occurred about 5am.

Initial inquiries indicate two men entered the rear door of a residence in Belton Crt, disturbing a woman who was asleep in the bedroom.

One of the men threatened the woman with a knife and demanded money.

The men rummaged through the woman's possessions, before leaving the scene on-foot with a laptop, cash and a mobile phone.

The 53-year-old woman was not physically injured during the incident. Investigations are continuing.

The Queensland Police Service has urged residents to be vigilant with home security, and to install and use key-operated locks on doors and windows.
