CRICKET: A third-wicket partnership of 131 by Will Gordon and Jason Steketee paved the way for a Maryvale Condamine win in the Condamine Cup A-grade qualifying final in Warwick cricket today.

Maryvale opened with pinch hitter Dave Walker who was quickly into the 20s.

Walker was out at 1-35 and keeper Pat Bourke was dismissed for 29 as Maryvale was 2-70.

Gordon, 74, and Steketee, 70, took the score past 200.

Maryvale finished at 7-258 at the end of 50 overs. Tyhe Clarkson was the best of the Redbacks bowlers with 4-57 off 10 overs.

Redbacks lost an early wicket before Coen Slatter, 60, and Jamie Saunders took the score of 89.

After the patnership was broken, Redbacks collapsed as the required run rate rose.

Redbacks were out for 121 with Kieran Bourke taking 4-29 off 10 overs and his father Kevin Bourke 3-8 off eight overs.

Maryvale will now play Warwick Hotel Colts at Slade Park on Saturday in the grand final.
