This program could save your child's life

LAST year there were 29 toddler drowning deaths.

Three-quarters of these were from accidental falls into water.

To reduce this toll, Warwick Indoor Recreation and Aquatic Centre is offering free swimming lessons to children under five during Learn2Swim Week.

Laurie Lawrence from Kids Alive - Do the Five is the program's ambassador. He reckons it saves lives.

"Learn2Swim Week has been running for four years now and each year we get more and more swim schools participating,” Laurie said.

"Local swim schools like WIRAC are helping us to reach our goal of zero drownings in under-fives and I encourage all parents with children under five to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.”

This year Learn2Swim Week runs from October 2-9. For more info visit learn2swimweek.com or call WIRAC on 46617955.
