RIDERS from three states have a share of the lead in the Black Toyota Canning Downs Campdraft after day 1 of action at the Warwick Showgrounds.

Michael Hiscock hails from Maffra in Victoria and scored 91 on Magic Bar.

Chinchilla campdrafter Jackie Knudsen scored 91 on Barister and Wee Waa (NSW) rider Laine Bennett also has a 91 on Durkin's Ranger.

Knudsen and Bennett competed earlier in the day in the ladies campdraft.

Hiscock won the Warwick Gold Cup in 2006 and 2013 while Knudsen was the Canning Downs Campdraft winner in 2008 so both have form in Warwick on the board.

There are 10 combinations on 90, including 1987 Warwick Gold Cup winner Terry Hall from Goondiwindi on Hazelwood Romantic Spin.

There are 11 on 89 and 17 combinations on 88, including Nebo campdrafter Pete Comiskey with two horses.

Former Warwick resident Ben Tapp is on 87 in the Canning Downs Campdraft with Cool Dust, a combination which won the Warwick Gold Cup in 2012.

The first 200 combinations in the Canning Downs Campdraft competed on day 1 and more will be in action on Tuesday afternoon.

Pryde's EasiFeed Warwick Gold Cup action started on Tuesday morning with the first 300 runs.

Rodeo finals

THE most successful cowboy in Australian Professional Rodeo Association history will be in action in the first round of the Warwick Rodeo APRA National Finals from 6pm Thursday.

Emerald rider Shane Kenny has won more than 30 titles in the APRA, including 15 all around titles.

He will face some of his toughest opposition from last year's winner Shane Iker, of Alton Downs, and Yass (NSW) star Clay Bush.

Kenny and Bush will combine in team roping.
