Missing men and teenage boy found in Torres Straight

UPDATE: Police have found the missing men and teen at 8am this morning.

The dinghy was found at Yam Island where the four had stopped overnight.

All were found safe and well.

EARLIER: POLICE search and rescue are searching for an overdue vessel in the Torres Strait.

The six-metre dinghy left Moa Island around 5pm yesterday with four people on board.

The three adult males and 13-year-old boy are overdue to arrive at Saibai Island.

Despite excellent weather conditions, a full moon and flat seas, a search of the Torres Straits involving the Rescue Helicopter 700 was unsuccessful.

The Rescue Helicopter 700 commenced a second search at first light this morning which has also been unsuccessful thus far.

In conjunction with JRCC Australia, Far North District Water Police will be planning further searches today with other aerial assets.
