Thousands thrilled at weekend polocrosse
THOUSANDS of people turned out for a thrilling weekend of polocrosse action at the Shell Cup and Barastoc Interstate Series at Morgan Park.
Action wrapped up yesterday in a series of blockbuster finals that had spectators on the edges of their seats, with the home side enjoying a spectacular Shell Cup win.
Warwick Polocrosse Club president Les Fraser said it was an excellent weekend of top polocrosse action.
"We had 3000-3500 people here, if not more," he said.
"The weekend was accident-free - both horses and their riders."
New South Wales dominated the Barastoc Series, with only one Queensland team able to stop the visitors from a whitewash.
